The draft standard "Technical Specification for Construction of Basalt Fiber Asphalt Pavement" review meeting was successfully held in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, on June 29, 2019. The Jiangsu Provincial Administration organized the Conference for Market Regulation and the Provincial Department of Transportation.
The expert panel for the review meeting consisted of five experts from highway management, design, research, and publishing units, including Yang Guixin from the Jiangsu Provincial Administration of Transportation, Zhao Mian from the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Transportation Engineering Construction Bureau, Professor Chen Yunhe from the Army Engineering University, Yang Yiwen from the Jiangsu Provincial Administration of Transportation Comprehensive Administrative Law Enforcement Bureau, and Wang Jing from the Jiangsu Institute of Quality and Standardization. Yang Guixin served as the team leader. Representatives from nine main and participating units, including the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Transportation Highway Development Center, Yangzhou University, Yangzhou Traffic Engineering Safety and Quality Supervision Station, Yangzhou Highway Management Office, Southeast University, Jiangsu Expressway Engineering Maintenance Co., Ltd., China Design Group Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Tianlong Basalt Continuous Fiber Co., Ltd., and Yangzhou Runyang Road Engineering Co., Ltd., attended the meeting.
Hong Miao, Director of the Standardization Department of the Jiangsu Provincial Administration for Market Regulation, chaired the meeting. Also in attendance were Wang Shaokun, Director of the Science and Technology Department of the Provincial Department of Transportation; Jie Shuitong, Deputy Researcher of the Standardization Department of the Jiangsu Provincial Administration for Market Regulation; Zhang Baidong, Deputy Researcher of the Science and Technology Department of the Provincial Department of Transportation, and Wang Yong, Deputy Chief Clerk of the Science and Technology Department of the Provincial Department of Transportation.
During the meeting, Deputy Researcher Jie Shuitong introduced the review requirements, compilation specifications, and new situations of standardization work. Professor Xiao Peng from Yangzhou University, the chief editor of the standard, reported on the background, process, and principal technical content of the standard compilation. The expert panel reviewed the standard item-by-item content and provided modification suggestions. They agreed that the standard, which specifies the technical requirements of basalt fiber asphalt mixture raw materials, mix design methods, construction processes, and quality control, is well-structured, comprehensive, advanced, and practical and is of great significance for standardizing and promoting the application of basalt fiber asphalt mixture technology. The expert panel unanimously agreed to pass the review and recommended submitting the revised draft according to the review comments.
After the meeting, the drafting team will further modify and improve the draft standard based on the expert review comments and suggestions and promptly submit it for approval and publication by the Jiangsu Provincial Administration for Market Regulation.
